Option A: An eminent scholar with a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline, at least 10 research publications in UGC-listed or peer-reviewed journals, a total research score of 120 as per UGC norms, and a minimum of 10 years of teaching experience at university/college level as Assistant or Associate Professor, along with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates.
Option B: An outstanding professional from industry or academia with a Ph.D. and ten years of experience, who has made significant contributions to their field supported by documentary evidence.
Candidates need a Ph.D. degree in the relevant discipline, a Master's degree with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories), a minimum of 8 years of teaching or research experience, at least 7 publications in UGC-listed journals, and a total research score of 75 as per UGC norms.
A Master's degree with 55% marks in the relevant subject is required. Additionally, candidates must have cleared NET/SLET/SET conducted by UGC or CSIR, or hold a Ph.D. awarded in regular mode with externally evaluated thesis, open viva voce, and two published research papers from their Ph.D. work.
A Ph.D. from a foreign university ranked in the top 500 globally (QS, THE, or ARWU rankings) is also accepted as an alternative qualification.

- 1Visit the HIMS Portal at https://hims.odisha.gov.in/ from 07 May 2026 onwards. The portal supports multi-session filling so you can save progress and return.
- 2Fill out the application form completely online. Upload all required documents in PDF or image format. Ensure all documents are clearly readable.
- 3Upload your photograph in JPEG format, size less than 200 KB. Application without a signature will be rejected without refund.
- 4Pay the applicable application fee online through the portal. Keep the payment receipt for your records.
- 5After final submission, download the PDF of your submitted application from the university website format and get a hard copy.
- 6Send the signed hard copy with self-attested certificates via Speed Post or Registered Post only to the address below. Ordinary post and hand delivery are not accepted.

Applications are first screened and scrutinized. A list of eligible and ineligible candidates is published on the university website. Shortlisted candidates are called for interview — a maximum of 15 per single post, and in a 1:10 ratio for multiple posts based on scrutiny scores.
